With Australia eager to expedite negotiations on the proposed full-fledged Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) with India soon after the country’s general elections are over, the Commerce Department, is collecting inputs from the Indian industry on non-tariff barriers faced in the Australian market across sectors to make a case for their removal, sources have said.
India on Monday permitted export of 14,000 million tonnes of non-basmati white rice to Mauritius, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

The government has lifted export ban on onion and imposed a minimum export price (MEP) of $550/tonne, a day after it re-introduced 40 per cent export duty. Amid farmers’ discontent in Maharashtra, the decision to lift the ban has come 43 days after the government extended it for an indefinite period.
