Even though most of the wheat is procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) in Madhya Pradesh, farmers need to know which variety sells at a good rate throughout the marketing season.
An analysis of wheat mandi rates prevailing in the state of Madhya Pradesh for May 2024 shows that the Sharbati Wheat variety is still fetching the highest rate with an average price of Rs. 2,608/Quintal.

India’s overall exports reached USD 778.2 billion in 2023-24, compared to USD 776.4 billion in 2022-23. While the country’s merchandise exports dipped by 3 percent to USD 437.06 billion, services exports rose to USD 341.1 billion, registering a growth of 4.8 percent over the previous year.

Ethiopia has embarked on a transformation of its agricultural sector by launching the development of Integrated Export and Import Certification System (IEICS), also known as the e-Phyto system.
This digital initiative, a collaboration between the Ethiopian Agricultural Authority (EAA), and TradeMark Africa (TMA), aims to streamline the trade process for agricultural exports and imports.

Food safety watchdog FSSAI is planning to set new quality standards for ice-cream and flavoured milk besides tightening the existing safety norms for milk and other dairy products.
The proposal comes after ban on import of Chinese milk and milk products last month due to presence of melamine for one year till June, 2016, following a recommendation from FSSAI.

Souq Waqif in association with the Indian embassy is organising a 10-day Indian Mango Festival or Al-Hamba Exhibition from Thursday at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif.
The festival, to be inaugurated Thursday at 4.30pm, will welcome visitors daily from 4pm to 9pm until June 8, a statement from the embassy said.

India’s exports of 266 million dollars in 2023-24 to the remote Honduras in Central America are more than the exports of 185 m to nearby Cambodia and 237 m to Kazakhstan. The population of Honduras is just 10 million as against 17 m of Cambodia and 20 m of Kazakhstan.
