Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) is implementing various programmes for promotion of Agriculture Business in the country.
(i) 'Innovation and Agri-Entrepreneurship Development” programme is implemented under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) from 2018-19 onwards with an objective to promote innovation and agri-entrepreneurship by providing financial support and nurturing an incubation ecosystem in the country. Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has appointed five Knowledge Partners (KPs) and twenty-four RKVY Agribusiness Incubators (R-ABIs) across the country for implementation assistance and incubation of start-ups under this programme.

Government is promoting organic farming for improving soil health and water retention through the schemes of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) in all the States/UTs and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) exclusively for North Eastern States. Both the schemes stress on end-to-end support to farmers engaged in organic farming i.e. from production to processing, certification & marketing and post-harvest management training and capacity building.

Efforts to strengthen intercontinental trade and socio-economic relations between India and Africa are gaining momentum with the planned establishment of the India-Africa Trade Centre in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. City and Industrial Development Corporation(CIDCO) has reserved 25-35 acres within its international trade hub for this ambitious project, which is being spearheaded by the Africa-India Economic Foundation (AIEF).
