The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC) will enhance strategic supply chains and boost security in economic and energy sectors, and it will be a source of regional peace and stability, French foreign trade minister Sophie Primas has said. In an interview to PTI, Primas said France looks at the proposed corridor as a key to regional integration, stability, and an opportunity to hasten the decarbonisation of trade routes.

After forging close partnership in the defence domain, India and France are now looking at significantly deepening economic and trade ties especially in sectors like clean energy, new technologies and aviation, French foreign trade minister Sophie Primas has said. At the end of her three-day visit to India, Primas said France is looking forward to further negotiations between New Delhi and the European Union for finalisation of a 'mutually beneficial' free trade deal that could expand two-way economic engagement.

The National Statistics Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is releasing in this Press Note, Quarterly Estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the July-September Quarter (Q2) of the Financial Year (FY) 2024-25 along with its expenditure components both at Constant (2011-12) and Current Prices. Quarterly and Half-Yearly (April-September) Estimates of Gross Value Added (GVA) at Basic Prices by kind of economic activity along with year-on-year percent changes and expenditure components of GDP for the financial years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 at Constant and Current Prices are given in Statements 1 to 8 of Annexure A.

Top exporter India’s 5% broken parboiled variety was quoted at $445-$453 per ton this week, its highest level since Oct. 24, up from $440-$447 quoted for most of the month.
Indian 5% broken white rice was quoted at $450 to $458 per ton this week, increasing from last week’s $445 to $452.
