India has permitted import of fresh (green) areca nut without minimum import price condition from Bhutan through land customs stations (LCS) of Hatisar (Odisha) and Darranga (Assam) also, the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

Onion exports have resumed after four days, following Central govt's update of its order in the customs department system.
Over 400 onion-laden trucks from Nashik were stuck at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Mumbai and the Indo-Bangladesh border, as well as other ports, since Saturday. The obstacle occurred as the Centre had not updated its Sept 13 order about the removal of Minimum Export Price (MEP) and the reduction in export duty in the customs department system.

Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal Wednesday said that India’s exports of goods and services are likely to cross $825 billion despite global challenges and that his ministry is meeting shipping industry on Thursday to discuss container shortages, skyrocketing freight rates and ways to reduce the impact of the Red Sea crisis.

India will host the second edition of Global Food Regulators Summit during September 19-21 in the national capital, where delegates of more than 70 countries will brainstorm on key regulations.
