Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar today called upon the nation to embrace economic nationalism, urging the industry, trade, and commerce sectors to prioritize local production over avoidable imports. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitated the export of India's first ready-to-drink fig juice, made from GI-tagged Purandar Figs, to Poland. Himachal chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday announced Rs 2 crore for a boy's hostel at Neri College of Horticulture and Forestry in Hamirpur district of the state. While interacting with students, the CM said that the horticulture sector has an important contribution in strengthening the rural economy. 'After tourism and renewable energy sector, horticulture and agriculture were the most important sectors which can increase the income of farmers and strengthen the rural economy,' said the CM.
