India’s exports saw significant growth across various categories in November 2024 compared to the same month last year. According to a government statement, rice exports surged by an impressive 95.18 per cent, rising from $0.59 billion in November 2023 to $1.14 billion in November 2024. Through increased agricultural productivity, the adoption of digital and climate-resilient practices, and improved market connections, the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Growth and Rural Enterprise Ecosystem Strengthening (UP-AGREES) Project, a $325.10 million initiative, has received approval from the World Bank. As a way to encourage these initiatives, the project also seeks to garner $15 million in private investment.

Owing to the growing demand of rice export that is primarily originating from Asansol and Bardhaman districts in West Bengal, Kolkata CFS is equipped to handle over 1,200 TEUs of rice monthly, with its enhanced capacity, the CFS aims to achieve a throughput capacity growth of more than 25%.
