India considers lowering import duties on American walnuts, almonds, apples, and cranberries
Officials said talks are on to offer duty concessions on American walnuts and almonds and eliminate duties on cranberries. The two sides are eyeing a bilateral trade deal by end of year and have set a target of $500 billion bilateral trade by 2030. New Delhi imposes standard 42-120% duty on almonds and 50% on apples. Walnuts attract 100-120% duty.

Bangladesh tenders to buy 50,000 metric tons of rice, traders say.
The deadline for submission of price offers is March 19. The tender continues heavy rice purchasing in international markets by Bangladesh after its domestic crop was damaged last year. Floods in August and October destroyed an estimated 1.1 million tons of rice, prompting Bangladesh to expand imports to cool rising food prices.

Philippines seen to reduce rice imports this year.
The country’s rice imports are expected to decline this year but remain large enough to drive down the selling prices of local rice farmers despite the continuing shortfall in domestic production. 'It might level off but still [reach] over 4 million [metric] tons, mainly due to the drop in palay prices and the widening gap between requirements and local production,' Federation of Free Farmers (FFF) national manager Raul Montemayor said in a Viber message on Tuesday.
