India, EU to hold next round of FTA talks from Monday amid Trump tariff threats.
India and the 27-nation European Union (EU) bloc will start the tenth round of negotiations for a proposed free trade agreement from Monday in Brussels amid Trump tariff threats, according to an official. The talks are expected to focus on resolving remaining issues so that the agreement can be finalised by the end of this year.

Want to consolidate trade ties with India: Italian Agriculture Minister.

Govt levies 10 pc duty on mosur dal; extends duty-free import of yellow peas till May 31.
The government has imposed a 10 per cent import duty on lentils (mosur) and extended the duty-free import of yellow peas by three months till May 31 this year to enhance domestic availability, according to a finance ministry notification. Through the notification, the government has imposed 5 per cent basic customs duty and 5 per cent Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) on lentils with effect from March 8.

External affairs minister S Jaishankar concluded his official visit to Ireland and Northern Ireland, engaging in high-level discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. During his trip, he met Irish President Michael D Higgins and deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister Simon Harris, with both sides agreeing to establish a Joint Economic Commission to boost trade, investment, and technology linkages.

India could lower or completely eliminate import levies on American walnuts, almonds, apples and cranberries as it seeks to forge deeper trade ties with the US and iron out key contentious issues with the country ahead of Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs which are set to kick off on April 2. Officials said talks are on to offer duty concessions on American walnuts and almonds and eliminate duties on cranberries.

India lifts export ban on broken rice.
The government has lifted the export ban on broken rice to promote its shipments. The ban was imposed in September 2022. 'Export policy of broken rice has been amended from prohibited to free with immediate effect,' the Directorate General of Foreign Trade has said in a notification.
