Govt notifies procedure for export of certified organic products.
The government has laid out a procedure for export of certified organic products, requiring mandatory certification under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) for such shipments, according to a public notice. The Directorate General Of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in a public notice said that a product will be allowed to be exported as 'organic product' only when accompanied by a Transaction Certificate (TC) issued by a certification body accredited by the National Accreditation Body for such items under the NPOP of the Department of Commerce.

UK trade secy Jonathan Reynolds to visit India in Feb for FTA talks
Britain's Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds, on Monday revealed plans to visit India next month with a focus on finalising the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations as part of the UK government's ambition to elevate the bilateral partnership across all sectors.
Addressing India Global Forum's (IGF) annual UK-India Parliamentary Lunch at the House of Lords complex in London, Reynolds highlighted the strength of the bilateral trading relationship which stood at GBP 41 billion in the year until September 2024.

15th round of India-UK FTA talks to begin in February
The negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the UK are expected to resume in early February, after months of pause due to the general election in the UK, a senior official said on Wednesday. The negotiations began in January 2022 and have been a long-drawn-out affair as a common ground on issues such as market access and rules of origin eluded the negotiators. There have been 14 rounds of talks so far and the last round concluded in March 2024, weeks before the UK elections in May.
