India doing better than other countries after US tariffs: NSE CEO.
Asserting that a situation of confusion persists in the world after the recent imposition of reciprocal tariffs by the US, NSE Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ashish Kumar Chauhan on Sunday said India is doing much better than other countries. He said a clear situation is expected to emerge within the next one or two weeks as there will be negotiations and the duty structure will be stabilized.

Customs speeds up shipments to US.
Indian customs authorities are fast-tracking shipments headed to the US ahead of the Trump administration's April 9 deadline for 26% reciprocal tariff on New Delhi. Effective April 5, the US has imposed 10% additional duty on most goods entering the US from India unless they were already in transit. This tariff level is set to increase to 26% from April 9.

Indian Food Importers and ProChile Strengthen Agrifood Trade Ties in Presence of Chilean President.
The Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI) and ProChile, the Chilean government agency dedicated to the international promotion of exports, signed a Memorandum of Understanding today, aimed at strengthening the trade of food and beverages between Chile and India. The agreement was signed in the presence of Chile's President Gabriel Boric, who is currently on a State visit to India this week, to enhance commercial ties and cultural exchange with between both nations. The President is accompanied by ministers from various sectors, from mining to agriculture, as well as a business delegation that includes representatives from food export associations and companies.

After rasogolla, GI tag for nolengur sandesh; three more sweets, aromatic rice, silk yarn & guava on list too.
Nolengur sandesh, winter’s gift to Bengal’s sweet shops, can now claim its badge of authenticity. It has followed its equally illustrious cousin, Banglar Rasogolla, in getting a Geographical Indication (GI) tag. Rasogolla had got the tag in 2017.

Bangladesh imports 10,850MT more rice from India.
Another consignment of 10,850 metric tonnes (MTs) of Indian parboiled rice arrived at the country’s premier seaport, Chattogram Port on Thursday. A vessel ‘MV HT UNITE’ carrying the consignment docked at the port, said a media release sent from the Ministry of Food.

Panruti cashew, Chettikulam shallot, Puliyangudi lime, Panruti jackfruit among T.N.-based products to get GI tag.
In a significant boost to the rich agricultural heritage of Tamil Nadu, six unique products from the State have been granted Geographical Indication (GI) tags. These products include Panruti cashew, Panruti jackfruit, Chettikulam shallot (small onion), Puliyangudi acid lime, Virudhunagar samba vathal, and Ramanathapuram chithiraikar rice.

Dried onion producers ecstatic at harvest bounty.
Despite worries about the US-initiated tariff war affecting Indian industry, onion dehydration facilities in Mahuva town of Bhavnagar district are thriving. This is attributed to a bountiful onion harvest not only in Gujarat, but supply is also expected from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Bilateral trade agreement talks with US may get fast-tracked.
The Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) with the US would be used to deal with the reciprocal tariffs to get them rescinded or settle them bilaterally, officials said, and the trade pact talks likely to get fast tracked after Washington imposed additional 27% tariffs on New Delhi. The government plans to start sectoral meetings with their American counterparts this month.
