India's traditional beverage Goli Soda is witnessing strong consumer response in key international markets, including the US, UK, Europe, and the Gulf, driven by strategic expansion and innovative reinvention, an official statement said on Sunday. Under a strategic partnership with Fair Exports, India has ensured steady deliveries of Goli Soda, rebranded as Goli Pop Soda, to Lulu Hypermarket, one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf region, the commerce ministry's arm Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) said.

Tea exports increased from $852mn in 2023-24 to $900mn in 2024-25: Tea Board.
Tea exports from India increased from $852 million in 2023-24 financial year to $900 million in 2024-25, driven by the high quality of tea, particularly from South India, said M Muthukumar, executive director of the Tea Board of India-Coonoor, in Coimbatore on Monday. Tea Board India–Coonoor and the department of catering and hotel management of Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, jointly organised an event, ‘Tea Crafting 2k25', on the college campus on Monday.

PM Modi govt's higher MSP spend on pulses driving up production, exports.
The focus of the Narendra Modi-led Central government is on increasing productivity of pulses, cereals and vegetables to produce more food for improving the nutritional level of the population as well nurturing India's ambition to become the food basket of the world, according to a senior Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare official. According to figures compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture, pulse exports registered more growth than imports with higher MSP being given to farmers during the NDA government as compared to the erstwhile UPA government’s tenure.

California almond exports to India soar 21% to reach record 400 million pounds, says senior ABC official.
India has played a vital role in the impressive growth of California almonds, with 85% of almonds consumed in the country coming from California. Emily Fleischmann, Vice President of Global Market Development at the Almond Board of California (ABC), highlighted India’s contribution to the success of California almonds. India is the largest export market for California almonds, and in the 2023-24 crop year, shipments to India exceeded 400 million pounds, marking a 21% growth compared to the previous year.

Talks to start on Wednesday to clinch first part of US trade deal by Sept-Oct.
Indian and the United States officials will get down to finalising the contours of the proposed bilateral trade agreement, starting Wednesday, along with the terms of reference and schedule of what is expected to be a two-stage pact. A team led by assistant US trade representative for South and Central Asia Brendan Lynch will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Rajesh Agarwal, additional secretary in the commerce department, with the idea to clinch the first tranche of the deal by Sept-Oct. While it is still early days, the first tranche is expected to focus on tariff reduction by both sides as US President Donald Trump mounts pressure on slashing tariffs on high-end cars and EVs as well as whiskey and farm products.

IISR enters sweetener market with spice-flavoured jaggery cubes.
In its efforts to offer a convenient alternative to conventional sugar, Indian Institute of Spices Research has introduced spice-flavoured jaggery cubes. Developed by the institute’s Post-Harvest Technology laboratory, the new product brings together the traditional sweetness of jaggery with a unique blend of aromatic spices.
